Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a lovely holiday season filled with family, friends, fires, and plenty of food. The four Fs? Totally unintentional.
My mom and I were lucky enough to spend Christmas week in Yellowstone. It was the best. We rode all over the park in old 70s Bombardiers that would make Wes Anderson jealous. We went of a night tour of Fountain Paint Pots under the stars. We saw five wolves, a coyote, two otters playing together in an ice cold river (there was literally ice floating past them), and more elk and bison than we could count.
If you ever have the chance, get to Yellowstone in winter! It blows summer Yellowstone away, and that’s no small feat.

I followed your Yellowstone journey all week on your Instagram, and can I just say, thanks for sharing! I used to live in Montana, not that far away from Yellowstone, when I was a little girl. My dad was (and still is) obsessed with the park, so we went all the time, in all seasons. I have such fond memories of the place but haven’t been there in maybe 20 years, so seeing your pictures brought back some wonderful memories and made me resolve to hie myself there soon. Thanks again, and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You’re welcome! I’m so happy to hear all that–you absolutely need to go back, especially during winter. My mom’s obsessed too! Which is why we went this past summer and again in winter. Even after being there five months before, I was blown away. Happy new year!

A year after falling in love with your pics on instagram, I have the opportunity to go to Yellowstone at the end of December! Were your snowcoach tours and the nighttime tour through Xanterra? I’ve seen some snowcoaches that aren’t nearly as picturesque as those 70s-style bombs!

Ahh you’re so lucky! Yes, we did everything through Xanterra. Apparently they’re retiring a lot of the cooler looking vehicles this year or next. Enjoy!

Yellowstone is and forever will be my favorite place in all USA. Having just lost my best animal friend this past week my husband would like to spend Christmas in Yellowstone as part of a healing process, however I am at a lost for knowing where to start. I would appreciate it greatly if you could give me a starting point. Thank you in advance!
